JOKER Lab at CLEF 2026

Dr. Tristan Miller is co-organizing JOKER: Humour in the Machine, a lab at the 17th Conference and Labs of the Evaluation Forum (CLEF 2026).

The JOKER series, now in its fifth year, aims to advance research in the automatic processing of humour and puns. This year's edition features shared tasks on humour-aware information retrieval, pun translation, onomastic wordplay translation, and humour generation.

The other workshop co-organizers are Liana Ermakova (Université de Bretagne Occidentale), Anne-Gwenn Bosser (Bretagne INP), Igor Kuzmin (Universitat Pompeu Fabra), Poojan Vachharajani (Netaji Subhas University of Technology), and Jaap Kamps (University of Amsterdam).

CLEF 2026 will be held on September 21–24, 2026 at Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena, Germany.
