CLAM student wins NSERC USRA
Faiza Salami has been awarded an Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council Black student researcher Undergraduate Student Research Award (NSERC USRA) for 2026. The Computational Linguistics at Manitoba Lab has co-sponsored the award, valued at $8960 over a 16-week period.
The award will fund a summer research assistantship for Ms. Salami for her project "Typologically Controlled Title Generation in AI-assisted Academic Writing".
The NSERC Undergraduate Student Research Awards are meant to nurture students' interest and fully develop their potential for research careers, and to encourage them to pursue graduate studies.
