Can LLMs learn humour?

Dr. Tristan Miller has been interviewed on AI and humour for the magazine Undark. The article, "AI Can Make You Laugh. But Can It Ever Be Truly Humorous?" by Jyoti Madhusoodanan, examines the challenges large language models still face in the recognition and generation of humour. The article was subsequently republished by Smithsonian Magazine under the title "Can Artificial Intelligence Learn the Nuances of Human Humor?".
